Microsoft warned that paste operations may continue to fail in workbooks that contain conditional formatting. For those scenarios the company offered a temporary workaround: use Paste Special. The support document spells out the steps: open the Home tab, click the Paste drop-down, choose Paste Special, and then select what to paste using the Ctrl+Alt+V keyboard shortcut.
