The Pentagon is taking aim at expired satellites with cutting-edge deorbiting technology contracts, recently awarding $8.4 million to three innovative companies - D-Orbit, Firefly Aerospace, and Katalyst Space - to design and demonstrate spacecraft that can safely capture and remove dead satellites from orbit.
