About OSINTSights

Hey there—I’m glad you’re here!

Welcome to OSINTSights! This all started because I was tired of juggling browser tabs, bookmarks, and sticky notes. I needed a better way to stay on top of security news. So I built this site to help myself—and others—stay informed, without the chaos.

What began as a side project quickly grew into something more. It’s now a place to explore AI, test new ideas, and share useful insights with folks who care about security. It’s also helped me understand AI better: what it can do, where it falls short, and how to make the most of it.

I’m Tim Lyons. I’ve spent most of my career in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and cloud. People say I’m driven—driven to deliver, to improve, and to help others grow. I’ve advised Fortune 500 companies, led international projects, and helped teams solve tough technical problems. I’ve also mentored junior professionals and stayed hands-on with the latest tech in fast-moving environments.

But truth be told, my proudest role is being “Dad.” I’m a single father to two amazing teens. That shapes how I work, lead, and connect with people. It keeps me grounded and reminds me why empathy and clarity matter.

So… What is OSINT?

OSINT stands for Open Source Intelligence. It’s about taking public information—like news, social media, or public records—and turning it into insights. My goal? Make it easy to use, clear, and valuable.

OSINTSights is a fresh take on my earlier site, osint.geekcq.com. Think of this as version 2.0—smarter tools, deeper analysis, and just enough AI to make a difference.

Where things are headed

OSINTSights started in late 2024 with a few simple API prompts. Since then, I’ve created custom GPT models and started using agent workflows. These combine live search, research, analysis, and formatting to deliver cleaner, sharper content.

I also work with WordPress developers. Sometimes that means improving AI features. Other times, it’s about finding and reporting security bugs. Thankfully, most of those get fixed quickly.

What’s next?

Here’s the roadmap—give or take a few life surprises:

  • Q1 2025: Launch AI-powered news aggregation with GPT agents. More signal, less noise.
  • Q2–Q3 2025: Add user accounts with personalized news feeds.
  • Q4 2025: (Maybe!) Roll out interactive tools—like a real-time social media sentiment tracker or live threat dashboard. Depends on time, work, and whether my kids need help with homework.

Stay in the loop

If this stuff speaks to you, stick around. Subscribe to the newsletter, follow on social, or drop me a message. I’d love your feedback. OSINTSights is always evolving—and your voice helps guide it.

Thanks for being here.
